Professor Christopher Okeleke CHUKWUJI was born in March, 1962 in his native town of Isheagu, Aniocha South Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State, Nigeria. He obtained his First School Leaving Certificate from Aniga Primary School, Adonta also in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State in 1975 and thereafter went to Oboshi (now St. Augustine) Grammar School, Ibusa in Oshimili North LGA, Delta State where he had his West African School Certificate in 1980. He worked briefly in the bank as a Clerical Officer between 1981 and 1982 before proceeding for university education at University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he obtained B. Agriculture (Animal Science in 1987). He worked briefly as a part time lecturer at the old Anambra State College of Agriculture, Ikwo, now in Ebonyi State in 1988 before continuing his education at University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he obtained MSc (Agricultural Economics in 1992). He obtained PhD in Agricultural Economics in the year 2006 from Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka. He joined the services of DELSU, Abraka towards the end of 1992 as an Assistant Lecturer, from where he rose through the ranks to become a full professor of Agricultural Economics in 2015. He opted to join the services of Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba upon its establishment by Delta State Government in 2021 and was absorbed in the same capacity as a full professor, in August, 2021. He has held a number of administrative positions, including of Warden of Hall of Residence, Deputy Dean of Students Affairs in the defunct DELSU, Asaba Campus, Head of Department, Chairman of many university committees. He was also the President of DELSU Senior Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Asaba Campus between 2017 and 2020. He has a number of local and international publications, including journals, conference proceedings, Books, chapters in books, technical reports among others to his credit. He has served as External Examiner to many universities as well as External Assessors of candidates for promotion to the Professorial Cadres. He has supervised more than five PhD Theses, more than 20 MSc Dissertations and over 50 undergraduate project works. He is a member of many professional bodies including Agricultural Society of Nigeria, Farm Management Association of Nigeria and National Association of Agricultural Economists among others. He is versatile with the use of a number of statistical econometric computer software such as MS Excel, SPSS, Eviews, Limdep, Stata among others for data analyses. He has also, undertaken and completed a number of commissioned social and economic surveys for both national and international agencies. He is married with children.
