Profile
Dr. Dan Emo-kiniovo Oyoboh is an Agricultural Economist by training. He enjoys over 18 years background experience in key areas of agribusiness space, value chains, marketing, training, and research and policy directions with agro-based and international agricultural development organizations. He has a robust niche in market systems and value chain interventions among stakeholders.
Dr. Oyoboh currently lectures Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness at the Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Anwai-Asaba, Delta State. Prior to joining DOU, he has worked for Dayntee Farms Limited, one of the fastest growing poultry farms in Nigeria for six years as the National Sales Manager. In this role, he provided strategic directions and leadership through the execution of innovative ideas to yield profitable growth of the farm’s revenue and market share. Earlier, Dr. Oyoboh has served at a top management position with the WASA Seed Project- Nigeria as the Project Manager/Value Chain Specialist where he coordinated all output marketing and value chain activities of the project. Previously, he worked for Bendel Feed and Flour Mills Ltd (BFFM), Ewu for 10 years where he rose through the ranks to the position of the National Sales Manager. BFFM was a manufacturing firm and a member of the Organized Private Sector (OPS) that produced feed (livestock and fish), flour (bread and biscuit) and semovita.
Some of Dr. Oyoboh’s previous studies are; Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG) –Small Scale Producers(SSPS) Project, Nigeria Erosion Watershed Management Project(NEWMAP) Impact Evaluation Survey (Edo), Operational Needs and Capacity Assessment of the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) School Feeding Programme to guide the ENSAND Project Implementation Process for Global Alliance For Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Ghana-Nigeria Poultry Sector Comparative Study: Value Chain Analysis-Nigeria, Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Study Among Commercial Poultry Farms in Nigeria, Analysis of Existing Situation and Evidence to Support the Mainstreaming of Nutrition into Agriculture in Nigeria, Baseline Survey and GIS Mapping of Agro-input Dealers, Seed Companies and Producers in Some Selected States in Nigeria, Needs Assessment of USAID/ MARKETS Platform of End-Users on Some Selected Crops; Cowpea, Sesame, Rice, Sorghum & Cassava, Post -Harvest Handling in Selected Agricultural Value Chains in Nigeria and the Nigeria National Seed Study.
He is a member of numerous professional bodies like; African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE), African Farm Management Association (AFMA), Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists (NAAE), Farm Management Association of Nigeria (FAMAN), Agricultural Society of Nigeria (ASN), Agricultural Policy Research Network (APRNet) and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).
Dr. Oyoboh holds a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Agricultural Economics. He has attended various business, leadership and professional courses both in Nigeria and abroad. He is from Delta State, Nigerian and speaks English fluently.
