Head since June, 2017, University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences. Duty: As Head of Department: • I coordinate the activities of the department, inter-alia delegate responsibilities to all academics and non-academics staff. Specifically, the academics consisting of the teaching staff and the technologists, their responsibilities are appropriately tailored to revolve within the departmental curriculum, while the technologists also extend their work to the farm project. The non-academic staff man the secretariat and admin office under my guide. • I report directly to the Dean of Agriculture and indirectly to the Head of Institution i.e. The Vice Chancellor for both internal and external communication and assignment. • Together with a Farm Manager, I supervise a well stabilized integrated fish farm system made of brooder’s ponds, hatchery pond, fingerling pond, circulatory tanks. • Actively carry out teaching and research at lower and higher National Diploma Levels. Teach functional courses including Hydrobiology, Oceanography, Limnology, Marine Technology, Fisheries Biology, Environmental Pollution, Fisheries Technology. • Carry out “out of classroom” assignment as determined by the Rector and / or Dean of Faculty of Agriculture. • Supervision of students’ projects and research work both at ND and HND levels. • I have supervise Twenty-five (25) students’ projects and extraordinary researches. • Currently, my research work with my students and associates includes: i. Manuscript in Preparation: Onwuka, C. N.; Faith P; Chineyare, C. J.; (2021): The Cichlid fishes of Otamiri River: The Morpho – Ecological Adaptations to Aquatic life. 9.
