I am Dr Akpoveta Oshevwiyo Vincent, a native of Abraka from Ethiope East Local government Area of Delta State. I hold a B.Sc degree (2002) in Industrial Chemistry with a Second Class Upper grade from Delta state University and a Masters degree (2005) in Physical Chemistry with a Ph.D grade from the University of Ibadan. I further hold a Ph.D degree (2012) in Physical/Environmental Chemistry from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State. My research specialization is in the area of Physical/Environmental Chemistry with focus on hydrocarbon remediation, process optimization of remediation techniques, hydrocarbon degradation isotherm and kinetics. My research interests spans the spectrum of of rate studies, kinetics and thermodynamics of chemical processes, process optimization approach on cutting edge remediation techniques and kinetics of environmental remediation processes using environmentally friendly techniques. Process optimization on the use of environmentally friendly macromolecules that will be isolated and purified from novel ecofriendly sources for application in the clean up (remediation) of hydrocarbon contaminated soil and water, as well as kinetic investigation of the remediation process is also on my ongoing research focus. I have about thirty eight publications dispersed in both national and international journals of repute with a chapter contribution in an international textbook. Over sixty percent of my publications are dispersed in high quality indexed and abstracted international journals; accounting for a google scholar h-index of 12, i10-index of 14 and average citations of 715 as at December 2023. I have lectured for over sixteen years with teaching experience drawn from both the College of Education system where l started my career to the University. I have had well rooted teaching and administrative experience from four different universities in both full time and Adjunct capacities. I was a former Sub-dean, Faculty of Science, Ondo State University of Science and Technology (now renamed as Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology-OAUSTECH) and former Secretary, Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU), OAUSTECH chapter branch before joining the service of Dennis Osadebey University. I was the pioneer Acting Head of Department of Chemistry and presently now the Acting Head of Department of Chemical Sciences (Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and Biochemistry and Molecular biology programmes). I am the founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Akpoveta Vincent Foundation, a foundation established solely for the purpose of providing humanitarian services to the society. l am a Christian and happy family man.
