Dr. Johnson Ojiyovwi Okorhi is a seasoned lecturer and researcher with broad experience in environmental management, technology management, and policy research. He is currently the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences (FES) at Dennis Osadebay University (DOU) in Asaba, Nigeria. In addition, Dr. Okorhi oversees the Directorate at the Research, Creativity & Innovation Centre (RCIC), DOU. Dr. Okorhi’s research interests are diverse and include waste management, e-waste, circular economy, environmental management, renewable energy, transformative innovation, 4IR technologies, etc. His expertise in technology management has led him to opportunities for mentorship, lecturing, conducting research, and supervising academic programmes at DOU, University of Port Harcourt, National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM), Projects Development Institute (PRODA), among other. As an AfricaLics Scholar in Innovation and Development in Africa, Dr. Okorhi possesses academic strengths in policy research, utilizing scientific evidence to inform policy formulation and decision-making. His research area of focus include science, technology, and innovation (STI) management, entrepreneurship, sustainability, environmental management, and natural resource conservation. Throughout his career, Dr. Okorhi has secured research grants, led research projects, and published numerous papers in scholarly journals and conferences. He has also traveled extensively and established connections within global networks related to STI management. Prior to his current role as Dean of the FES, Dr. Okorhi held positions such as Acting Head of Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology at DOU, Instructional/Tutorial Facilitator and Project Supervisor at the National Open University of Nigeria, Deputy Director Research at NACETEM, and Scientific Officer at PRODA. He also has experience as a Senior Tutor at Redeemer’s High School and as an Executive Officer at Geoseal Consulting Services. Dr. Okorhi's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Engineering, Technology & Innovation Management from the University of Port Harcourt, a Master’s Degree in Technology Management from Obafemi Awolowo University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geophysics from Edo State University, Ekpoma.
