Dr. Olufemi O. Olayemi is an Associate Professor and Acting Head of Department, Department of Business Management & Entrepreneurship currently on Sabbatical Leave at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba Delta State, Nigeria. He is a young astute Management Scholar/Consultant in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences of the University of Lagos Akoka- Yaba, Lagos State. He is a graduate of two prestigious Nigerian Universities; Ahmadu Bello University-Zaria where he obtained Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree with Second Class, Upper Division (2:1) in 1997 and the University of Lagos, where he obtained both Masters of Science in Business Administration and Ph.D., Business Administration (Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship) degrees in 2002 and 2014 respectively. He was also a visiting Research Scholar at the University of West of Scotland Paisley, Scotland, where he did a study on knowledge management and SMEs competitiveness.
He has taught entrepreneurship and other management related courses at Redeemer’s University, RCCG Camp, Ogun State and Caleb University, Imota- Lagos State at different periods as an Adjunct Lecturer. His research, teaching and consulting experiences cut across a wide variety of activities with over twenty (20) years in both private and public organizations. His areas of research interests cut across innovations and change management, competitive strategies, business formation, family business ownership and succession planning, youth and women empowerment through business and entrepreneurial creativity especially diversification into Agro-allied related businesses. He has published and co-authored several articles (more than 30 publications) in both local, national and International Journals.
Dr. Olayemi is a member of the Senate of the University of Lagos elected by Congregation in 2016-2018. He was also re-elected as a member in 2020 till date and has served the University at various capacities in several committees at the Department, Faculty and University levels. He is the Executive Secretary of the Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN), He is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Human Resources and Strategic Management, Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, Nigeria, and a Certified Management Consultant, Member, School Board of ECWA Academy, ECWA Ebute Metta District Church Council, Lagos, a Co-Managing Partner, TELFSY Value Consult, Lagos. He is a business coach and mentor to many upcoming young entrepreneurs and role model to several students at both undergraduate and Post graduate (MSc & PhD) levels. He is a result oriented personality determined to be a positive agent in his immediate environment. He has passion for community focused projects and always willing to add values to humanities.
