Computer Science

The Computer Science Programme was officially established in 2021 following a series of meetings and discussions between the University’s Vice Chancellor, Management, and the National University Commission (NUC). Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, Delta State, received approval to commence operations with two (2) Departments within the Faculty of Computing: Computer Science and Cyber Security, beginning in the 2021/2022 academic session. At its inception, the Department of Computer Science, which included the B.Sc. The Computer Science programme was staffed by a dedicated team of six (6) academic staff members, including one female and five males. The staff were highly motivated and committed to delivering quality education in Computer Science. Today, the B.Sc. Computer Science programme remains a major programme in the Department of Computer Science, continuing to provide students with the highest academic standards in data collection, analysis, and interpretation in relation to application and system analysis and development. The department is committed to developing well-trained professionals who are capable of addressing scientific challenges across various industries.
