Dr. Oghenefejiro Adagha is a Nigerian academic and researcher in the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba. His areas of specialization are Hydrobiology and Fish Nutrition, with a research focus on reducing fish production costs through the use of locally formulated feed without compromising fish health and growth performance.
He obtained his B.Fish, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from Delta State University, completing his doctorate in 2025. Over the years, he has gained practical and academic experience in fisheries management, aquaculture, fish nutrition, and hydrobiology. Before joining academia, he worked as a Fish Farm Manager and Community Facilitator on a World Bank-assisted agricultural project.
Since joining Dennis Osadebay University in April 2022 as an Assistant Lecturer, Dr. Adagha has taught several undergraduate courses including Fish Nutrition, Hydrobiology, Limnology, Fish Ecology, Hatchery Management, Fish Farming Techniques, and Fish Pond Construction and Management. He has also served in various academic responsibilities such as examination supervision, curriculum development, and student course advising.
Dr. Adagha is an active member of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria and has contributed to both national and international scholarly publications in aquaculture, fish nutrition, and sustainable fisheries. His research interests include alternative feed ingredients, fish growth performance, aquatic ecology, and sustainable aquaculture practices.
In addition to his academic and professional engagements, Dr. Adagha is a devoted Catholic and a Knight of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), reflecting his commitment to faith, discipline, and community service.
