Prof. Ben Emukufia Akpoyomare Oghojafor


Prof. Ben Emukufia Akpoyomare Oghojafor was appointed the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University, Anwai, Asaba, Delta State in March 2021. Before his appointment, he was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management), University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.

Born February 1, 1956 at Abraka, Ethiope East LGA of Delta State. He went to Orogun Grammar School, Orogun, Delta State and proceeded to Federal School of Arts and Science, Ogoja. He obtained his Bachelor of science ( B.Sc ) Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from University of Lagos. He Is a teacher & researcher of intellectual versatility and profound depth. He was appointed Professor of Business Administration (Strategic and Entrepreneurial Management) on October 1, 2004, He was also Head of the Department of Business Administration (August 1, 2008 – July 31, 2009), Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) from August 1, 2009 – July 31, 2013 and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services) in February 2017 and 2019.

Prof. Oghojafor is a recipient of many Awards, including: UNILAG Golden Jubilee Distinguished Alumnus Award ( 2009, 2010 & 2012), Junior Chamber International Nigeria Award for Outstanding Support and Services (2011) and Department of Business Administration Graduating Class Award for Outstanding Contribution (2009).

His hobbies are: Squash, Golf, Swimming, Handball, Photography and Chess. Upon his appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University in March 2023, he was faced with several challenges, such as, lack of competent manpower to kickstart the University and lack of infrastructure for staff and students

Within the space of two years, the Vice Chancellor, with the help of the state government and some other educational bodies, has been able to surmount some of these challenges. Dennis Osadebay University, though not there yet, but can now boasts of a handful of buildings which has made the school to begin to wear a new look.
